Fan Picks CFB Week 7 Eve Slate
With only three games in the late slate for week 7, we are only covering the Eve slate in this Friday article. To make up for the missing article, we will have a Fan Picks NFL Primer that should publish later this afternoon or sometime tomorrow morning.
In an effort to their player’s NFL business, Fan Picks has lowered the rake on their NFL contests this weekend to just 5%! They also offer NFL GPP contests with better odds, and flatter payouts. This includes our $5 Sunday NFL contests, which is a guaranteed 100 entry tournament that will pay out the top 20 finishers. This tournament has a 5% rake, meaning $475 will be paid out to the top 20 of finishers. Click below to view the contest.
Week 7 Fan Picks QB Plays for Eve Slate
Best Bet: Greg Ward – $7,600
There is a small group of quarterbacks that can’t miss when their team has a total of 40 or more. QBs with red zone usage that borderlines on 90%. We currently have that group as: Greg Ward, Patrick Mahomes, Seth Russell, Lamar Jackson, Trevor Knight, Brandon Dawkins, Kenny Hill, and DeShone Kizer. You can pretty well just give that group of QB’s the fantasy points for the number of touchdowns Vegas has their team projected to score. With Houston in a dream matchup with Tulsa this week, we will have Greg Ward in all of our Fan Picks eve lineups.
Best Value: Sefo Liufau – $5,100
At this point, you have to be fine with starting whichever Colorado QB starts on Saturday night, just be sure to double-check prior to kickoff. Liufau is the seasoned starter, and better player, but Montez’s running ability has pushed him into that group with Ward and co over the past two weeks. Arizona State has consistently been a bottom 5 defense nationally for the past 3 seasons. The Buffaloes will run the score up here, and whichever QB starts will be a great fantasy play.
Week 7 Fan Picks RB Plays for Eve Slate
Best Bet: D’Onta Foreman – $6,400
We originally planned to pencil in Christian McCaffery here, but he’s questionable (we think he plays) and this matchup is just too good for Foreman… you have to start him. Iowa State is the nation’s 111th ranked run defense, and there are actually only 5 power 5 schools in the nation that are giving up more rushing YPG. Foreman is clearly the back to own on this Texas roster, and is coming off from a 25/159/2 performance against Oklahoma last week.
Best Value: Derrius Guice – $4,400
With Fournette out again this week, we will get to see how many fantasy points Derrius Guice can rack up on 15-18 carries. This game is going to get out of hand early, but not before Guice breaks a handful of long runs. He had 19/155/1 in a week 2 blowout of Jacksonville State, and we would put that as his floor in this matchup with the 4-2 Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles.
Week 7 Fan Picks WR Plays for Eve Slate
Best Bet: Rodney Adams – $5,600
The USF Bulls face a UConn defense that has been solid against the run this season, but has had some of the worst secondary play in the nation. Rodney Adams can flat out fly and should be able to beat them deep a few times this week. Any time you see a speed receiver like Adams with a 22% target rate, and 71% catch rate you can assume he’s going to have plenty of opportunities to beat a bad defense in a matchup like this.
Best Value: Allen Lazard – $4,400
Like the early and afternoon slates for week 7, we don’t love any receivers below $4,000, so you are likely going to start three guys from the $4,000-$6,000 range, and may end up leaving some money on the table this week. Lazard is an NFL caliber receiver, that was drastically underutilize in weeks 3-5. He finally saw a bump in targets last week, and responded with a two touchdown game. The Texas secondary has been shredded weekly this season, and last week gave up a 10/232/3 game to Oklahoma’s WR1 Dede Westbrook. Iowa State will likely trail early and have to throw it a bunch this week, making Lazard a solid play on a losing team.
Week 7 Fan Picks TE Plays for Eve Slate
Best Bet: Evan Engram – $5,400
If there has been a theme to the college football fantasy season, it’s been paying up at the tight end position. Specifically with Evan Engram and Jaylen Samuels. Both players are their teams top target both in and out of the red zone, and both players have consistently reached value at a position that has historically struggled to do so. Arkansas will score points and stop the run, forcing Ole Miss to be one dimensional and throw it a ton. Engram has 4 touchdown receptions in 5 games this season, and has scored in every SEC game. Look for him to put together another 100 yard game and to find the end zone again here in week 7.
